1-3 JULI >> Young Maker Days: Antweight Robot Hackathon

Een PRIMEUR van formaat! Op 1, 2 en 3 juli gaan op maakleerplek de Young Maker Days van start. Ben je tussen 12 en 16 jaar? Kom dan mee je eigen robot bouwen in het High Tech Lab! Op 3 juli ’s avonds kan je met je robot ook deelnemen aan de competitie…

Hackaton 

  • Date: 1, 2 and 3rd of July 
  • Age: 12 to 16 years old 
  • Time: 9:00 – 17:00 
  • Nederlands beschrijving: In teams van max vier bouw je in drie dagen een plastic antweight-robot waarmee je aan het einde van de hackaton kunt strijden in de lokale Antweight-competitie. Er worden vrijblijvende workshops georganiseerd (solderen, 3D CAD ontwerp, 3D printen, …) en er is permanente ondersteuning voor het bouwen aan de robot. Het is hoofdzakelijk bouwen en leren op je eigen tempo. Je bouwt met je team een robot, verbetert het ontwerp, oefent de besturing ervan en speelt! Als variatie zijn er ook mogelijkheden om naar buiten te gaan, van het weer te genieten, te kajakken of een escapebox te doen.
  • English description: In teams of max four, you will be building a plastic antweight robot in three days with which you can compete at the end of the hackaton in the local Antweight competition. There will be non-mandatory workshops (soldering, 3D CAD design, 3D printing, …) and permanent support. It’s generally building and learning at your own pace. You will be building with your team a robot, improve on the design, practice the control of it and play! As of variation, there will be opportunities to go out as well, enjoy the weather, go kajaking or do an escape box. 
  • Prerequisites: A willingness to learn independently, explore. We don’t expect any preknowledge, but we won’t tell you exactly what to do 😊.  
  • Max teams: 5 teams of 4. 
  • Enrolment: you can enrol as an individual. You are automatically enrolled in the competition as well, but can decide last minute if you want to join. 
  • Price:  33 euro per person
  • Volunteer: you can enrol for free as an instructor / volunteer where you are expected to give a workshop and be around for the organisation. We hope to see many youngsters and parents from the YML community around.
