TADA: learning beyond the classroom at maakleerplek
Forty-two fifth-year primary pupils from Mater Dei visited Campus Corso and maakleerplek for a TADA project day about STEM and mechanics.
Special visitors at Campus Corso and maakleerplek: on Thursday 12 June, we welcomed 42 fifth-year primary pupils from Mater Dei. TADA (Toekomst Atelier de l'Avenir) held its final project day of the school year, focusing on STEM and mechanics. These days take children beyond the classroom to meet guest teachers and discover different professions and fields, broadening their horizons and showing the many paths they could follow.
The interactive, accessible atmosphere immediately sparked enthusiasm and curiosity. At Campus Corso, they learned about wind energy from a sailor, how the brain stays in place and the mechanics of bicycles. They also worked in teams to develop robotic arms, among many other activities.
Later, at maakleerplek, the pupils explored woodworking, laser cutting, printing with a press and sewing, and challenged themselves with the Escape Box.
A wonderful TADA project tackling educational inequality, in partnership with KU Leuven Engage. The workshop days are supported by SOM (Samen Onderwijs Maken), the City of Leuven and Leuven Mindgate.
