maakleerplekWhat could it mean for you?
maakleerplek is an open making and learning environment where people make, repair, learn and experiment together. Whether you are a maker, a young person, a school, a business, a volunteer or an organiser: discover what you can do with us.
Workshops & courses
Want to learn something new?

Repair & Circularity
Repair & circularity

There are two ways to get something repaired here, and the difference matters: at a repair café volunteers repair your things, at a repair hub it is a paid service. Both run at set times, so check the calendar before you bring anything along.
Repair cafés: run by volunteers
There is a textile repair café and an electronics repair café, each about once a month. Volunteers repair your clothes or your appliance there. You bring your item along during the café and can watch while it is being fixed.
Volunteer repairers welcome too

The Electronics Repair Hub and the Textile Repair Hub are an ordinary repair service: experienced repairers do the work. Electronics you bring in during the hub's opening times, which are listed in the calendar. Textiles you hand in at a drop-off point in Leuven.
You pay for parts and a contribution

Can you repair things yourself? You are welcome at the repair cafés as a volunteer repairer, on the other side of the table.

Outreach & guidance partners
Do you know someone for whom a classroom doesn't work, but a workbench just might? Bridge figures, learning shops, pupil guidance centres, youth workers, community workers: we would love to work with you. We don't wait for people to find us: together we actively bring in those least likely to come by themselves.
- A warm handover: come along together the first time
- A first visit is free and without obligation
- Facilitators who are there: the relationship is the active ingredient, not the machine
