Learn to work with the biggest laser cutter in Leuven. High Tech Lab volunteers teach you the basics of laser cutting, show you how to cut or engrave your 2D design on our laser cutter, and share tips to get the best result. After this session you take a short test (booked separately on another day); then you can use the laser cutter on your own. Bring your laptop, preferably with a mouse. No laptop? You can use one of ours. Language: Dutch. Maximum 6 participants. The fee is non-refundable; if you can't make it, you can pick another date. Questions? Email hightechlab@maakleerplek.be.

Every Wednesday lunchtime the canteen turns into a restaurant run by the young people of HONK, a residential initiative for young adults with a disability. In the kitchen, behind the bar and in the dining room they show what they can do: sandwiches, soup, croques, a hot meal, cake and home-made iced tea, all fresh and made with love. Just walk in, no booking needed. Closed during school holidays.

Curious about what you can do with a Riso printer? Studio guide Wout Maes introduces the basic techniques of riso printing in the Graphic Lab. We work analogue, making a collage by cutting and pasting, then print it in two colours on the Riso printer — playing with misregistration, textures and overlay effects. You go home with your own colourful A4 print.
