Visit maakleerplek on Herbestemmingsdag
On 31 May 2026, maakleerplek takes part in Herbestemmingsdag: a day devoted to giving buildings, materials and resources a new purpose.
On 31 May 2026, maakleerplek takes part in Herbestemmingsdag 2026. During this annual event, initiatives across Flanders and Brussels open their doors to show how existing resources, from buildings to materials and residual streams, can have a new future.
Repurposing is an important part of maakleerplek's story. The historic Molens van Orshoven site is a heritage site and a distinctive setting for our activities: full of history and character, with its own quirks. We have the honour and pleasure of giving it a new purpose.
With maakleerplek, we show how a building in decline can regain its meaning, respecting what was already there and looking towards sustainable use.
Sign up for one of our two tours that day, at 11:00 or 14:00. The tour lasts about an hour, and the price includes a drink afterwards.
