Hackathon
Dates: 1, 2 and 3 July
Ages: 12–16
Time: 09:00–17:00
In teams of up to four, you will spend three days building a plastic antweight robot to enter in the local Antweight competition at the end of the hackathon. There are optional workshops in soldering, 3D CAD design, 3D printing and more, with support available throughout. You build and learn at your own pace: develop your robot, improve the design, practise controlling it and play. For a change of pace, there are also opportunities to go outside, enjoy the weather, kayak or try an escape box.
Prerequisites: a willingness to explore and learn independently. No prior knowledge is expected, but we won't tell you exactly what to do.
Maximum: five teams of four
Registration: you can sign up individually. You are automatically registered for the competition too, but you can decide at the last minute whether to take part.
Price: €33 per person
Volunteering: you can register free of charge as an instructor or volunteer. You are expected to give a workshop and help with the organisation. We hope to welcome many young people and parents from the Young Maker Lab community.
