Every Wednesday lunchtime the canteen turns into a restaurant run by the young people of HONK, a residential initiative for young adults with a disability. In the kitchen, behind the bar and in the dining room they show what they can do: sandwiches, soup, croques, a hot meal, cake and home-made iced tea, all fresh and made with love. Just walk in, no booking needed. Closed during school holidays.

De Kantine, the hands-on training venue for the hospitality industry. It’s not a new place, but it does have a new concept. A follow-up to the summer bar, yet something different again. The lunch menu features a daily special, available for a competitive price of fifteen euros. A mini-buffet on your plate! A dip, a salad, roasted vegetables, a warm sauce, a slice of quiche, a stew… new combinations every week. And to keep you warm throughout the winter, there’s fresh soup, of course. In the evening, we serve small plates of various delicious dishes that are also updated regularly, ranging from about six to ten euros per plate.
