Studio spaces for artistic residencies and projects, in close collaboration with Cas-co. Open studio for emerging projects.
Art here is not decoration but a way of knowing in its own right: it asks the questions that specialisms skip and lets us look differently at the world we are rebuilding. That is why the artists' studios sit in the middle of our site and not at its edge, and why artists, technicians, children and engineers work side by side here.
At maakleerplek we believe that artists actively contribute to analysing, visualising and realising sustainable futures. The Shared Studios house artistic residencies and projects in close collaboration with Cas-co vzw.
Artists in residence (2025)
- Sammy Ben Yakoub — Teacher-in-Residence at the intersection of education and creativity
- Lise Van den Broucke — visual artist
- AgNo3000 — photographic duo Wouter Elsen & Ward Collin, working with collodion and silver nitrate

Next to that there is an open studio for temporary creative projects — from local community work to art education.
